Duurzame toegang | Projecten en organisaties

Omdat duurzame toegankelijkheid een jong vak is, en we nog lang niet precies weten hoe we alles goed moeten regelen voor de toekomst, wordt vooral in Europees verband veel onderzoek gedaan. Hieronder komt binnenkort een overzicht van lopende projecten met de Nederlandse deelnemers.

Lopende projecten

• APARSEN, Groot Europees project met meer dan 30 deelnemers. Doel is te komen tot een 'network of excellence' waarin kennis en expertise wordt gedeeld op Europese schaal. Nederlandse deelnemers: Koninklijke Bibliotheek.
• IIPC, internationale organisatie van met name nationale bibliotheken die aan webarchivering doen.
• KEEP, Keeping Emulation Portable. Europees project om emulatie als preserveringsstrategie haalbaar te maken. Nederlandse deelnemer: Koninklijke Bibliotheek
• LiWA, Living Web Archives, Europees project webarchivering. Deelname uit Nederland: Beeld en Geluid.
• ODE, Opportunities for data exchange. Klein project, bevordert 'an interoperable data sharing, re-use and preservation layer to the emerging eco-system of e-Infrastructures'.
• OPF, Open Planets Foundation. Structurele organisatie ingericht om de tools die door het Planets project (zie hieronder) zijn opgeleverd verder te ontwikkelen en te onderhouden. Nederlandse deelname: Koninklijke Bibliotheek en Nationaal Archief.
• SCAPE, Scalable Preservation Environments. Dit project is de opvolger van PLANETS (zie afgesloten projecten). Nederlandse deelname: Koninklijke Bibliotheek
• PRESTOSPACE, duurzame opslag voor audiovisueel materiaal. Nederlandse deelnemers: Beeld en Geluid, EYE Film; PrestoCentre is het kenniscentrum van PrestoSpace.

Jaarlijks terugkerende conferenties

• iPRES: International Conference on Preservation of Digital Objects (jaarlijks, sept/okt). Iedere conferentie heeft weer een eigen website. Voor eigen verslagen van iPRES 2009, 2010 en 2011, zie weblog.
  
• IASSIST. Digitale duurzaamheid in de sociale wetenschappen
• IS&T's (Society for Imaging Science and Technology) Archiving Conference.
• PASIG, Preservation and Archiving Special Interest Group. Organiseert regelmatig conferenties op het raakvlak van harde ICT en duurzaamheid.

• Alliance for Permanent Access to the Records of Science. Alliance for Permanent Access to the Records of Science; Samenwerking op Europese schaal tussen nationale partners. Leden uit Nederland: NCDD, Koninklijke Bibliotheek.
• CESSDA, Council of European Social Science Data Archives; data archieven in de gamma-sector (DANS)
  
• IASSIST. �nternational Association for Social Science Information Service and Technology - internationale organisatie van professionals die werken met informatietechnologie en data services ter ondersteuning van onderzoek in de sociale wetenschappen.

Afgesloten projecten

• CASPAR. Cultural, Artistic and Scientific knowledge for Preservation, Access and Retrieval - an Integrated Project co-financed by the European Union within the Sixth Framework Programme to research, implement, and disseminate innovative solutions for digital preservation based on the OAIS reference model (ISO:14721:2002). Nederlandse deelnemers: DANS, de Koninklijke Bibliotheek, Beeld en Geluid. Inmiddels afgesloten.
  
• DPE. DigitalPreservationEurope, building on the earlier successful work of ERPANET, facilitates pooling of the complementary expertise that exists across the academic research, cultural, public administration and industry sectors in Europe. Nederlandse deelnemer: Nationaal Archief. Inmiddels afgesloten.
• PARSE.insight. �The purpose of this proposal is to work with providers and users of scientific information and repositories to deliver insight into the issues of sustainable permanent access and provide cross-fertilisation of ideas and requirements between providers and users, between the various sectors of interest they represent and between the research community as a whole and national/European funding agencies. Project uit FP7 van de Europese Commissie; website nog niet online. Nederlandse deelnemer: KB. Afgerond.
• PLANETS, Preservation and Long-term Access through Networked Services, is a four-year project co-funded by the European Union under the Sixth Framework Programme to address core digital preservation challenges. The primary goal for Planets is to build practical services and tools to help ensure long-term access to our digital cultural and scientific assets. Nederlandse deelnemers: de Koninklijke Bibliotheek en het Nationaal Archief. Afgerond. Opgevolgd door SCAPE en OPF (boven)
